SCE&G Public Hearing

I went to a public hearing in Eastover last week on DHEC's proposed rule changes for the discharge permits for SCE&G's Wateree Station. Needless to say they're not planning to tighten up on 'em. The crowd's main objection was the removal of any limit on the release of arsenic to the river.

I was really glad to see that Mayor Riley was going to endorse our next governor. I see this as a really big moment in the campaign. Minor candidates aside, this race really boils down to 3 candidates. One, a lawyer from Columbia, is popular with a lot of the establishment Democrats in South Carolina.
