Dennis Metz Anderson County and the Upstate

I have known the Sheheen's for most of my adult life. I taught with his mother and have worked with his uncles on various projects in Kershaw county. Vincent understands the need for improvement in education, the status of the poor in our state and is proactive on many issues. Now that I have moved back to the upstate, I find the Republicans are dominant, however, many would vote for Vincent if he can get his messsage out. I served on a Town Council here and am presently serving on the Anderson… Continue

Barbara Kelly Beaufort County

Here in Beaufort County we are inundated with Republican signs. My one lonesome Sheheen sign barely show up with all the others. Lots of people have asked me where are the signs.
Polls show we need more name recognition and signs are one way to do that,
So where do I get signs and buttons?

Scott Witte More campaign info?

I would like to see a daily post or calendar that listed campaign events. These could be formal or informal, official or unofficial. I'd also like to see info on where/how to get stickers, buttons, and signs. Then a way to link these to Facebook and Twitter. Thanks! Continue

Evan Revzin take back the statehouse

I have voted in two SC elections. Here in Greer,Taylors corner of the world, When I vote their is a small stack of blue cards and alot of red cards. I don't need to be singled out on display in line with the only blue card in hand. I feel those right wing so called conservative eyes peering (down) at me.I support a middle of the road, bluedog dem approach to solving our fiscal woes.Hopefully Mr. Sheheen will get tough on the issues and speak the real truths about the state of affairs hanging over… Continue

jim Watkins public education - the key

Public education is the key to the election - quite simply, if you want to save our public school system, vote for Vincent. Continue

Franklin Ashley 'GOP for Sheheen

I have encountered a boatload of Republicans here in Mt. Pleasant for Sheheen....mainly they are tired

of the inflexibility, the embarrassment, the gridlock, etc....don't count Vincent out yet......

Not so fast, America.....

Greg Snoad We must keep pushing

This summer is a very important time for all of us who are Sheheen supporters to step up our public support of our candidate. Talking to friends and using social media are both essential. This type of campaign builds momentum slowly, one voter at a time, and we really can't afford to wait until the fall. Both of our potential Republican opponents have significant leads over Vincent, but that support is soft and can be changed. The two things I have encountered most when I campaign for Sheheen

David (Dave) Jaspers New Ad - Moving

Great new ad! Shows that Vincent is the man to get SC moving into the 21st century. I was thinking you might want to make an ad "South Carolina Pride", showing Vincent in various places in the state talking about restoring South Carolinians' pride in their state after years of GOP fooling around.

Go Vincent!!!!

btw How do I get a bumper sticker?

David (Dave) Jaspers Tea Partiers

With Tea Partier Sarah Palin endorsing Haley (and Haley's rise in the polls) and Rand Paul's primary victory in Kentucky, it's time we Democrats start showing America the Tea Party for what it is....extremely dangerous! If you thought the Republican Party was right wing before, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Check out this link from You Tube - it's a clip from the movie "The American President" and it gets to the heart of real leadership. Go Team Sheheen!!!… Continue

Greg Snoad Saturday's Debate

I think this Saturday's Democratic Convention and Governor Candidate Debate is going to be a real pivot point in this campaign. The momentum is totally on our side, especially with Governor Hodge's endorsement so close to the convention. The debate on Saturday will demonstrate to all of those in attendance who the better candidate to represent our party is. Vincent will show them who has the energy, the new progressive ideas, and the legislative experience to get things done. This is the most im… Continue

christopher allen Would like to see more action from Sheehan in the Anderson community.

I like what Sheehan stands for and would like to see him more in the Anderson area, especially maybe a trip to the local schools and urban areas of my town. I think with this his chances of becoming our next governor would be greater... No one in this governors' race has visited my daughters school and with me being a college student at Tri- County Tech it would be nice to have some one like Sheehan come and visit. Continue

William Fick SCE&G Public Hearing

I went to a public hearing in Eastover last week on DHEC's proposed rule changes for the discharge permits for SCE&G's Wateree Station. Needless to say they're not planning to tighten up on 'em. The crowd's main objection was the removal of any limit on the release of arsenic to the river.
When it came time for public comment they let the elected officials go first. Rep. James Smith was the first up. He started out by saying, in an offhand sort of way, "First I'd like to say that if Vinc… Continue

Greg Snoad Riley Endorsement

I was really glad to see that Mayor Riley was going to endorse our next governor. I see this as a really big moment in the campaign. Minor candidates aside, this race really boils down to 3 candidates. One, a lawyer from Columbia, is popular with a lot of the establishment Democrats in South Carolina. Another, the current Superintendent of Education, seems to be a candidate who should attract educators and those who place public education as a top priority. Obviously he will also be touting the… Continue

Laurin Manning The State: Governor's race shaping up as an Internet campaign

by Gina Smith The State January 11, 2010 This ain't your momma's gubernatorial campaign. Seizing on ever-changing technology, South Carolina's gubernatorial campaigns are unleashing a cloud of new interactive approaches to make you feel connected to their candidates and gain your vote. Last week, state Sen. Vincent Sheheen, a Camden Democrat running for governor, unveiled the Sheheen Action Network, an interactive social component to his Web site. Based on technology used by President… Continue

Laurin Manning The State: Better legislature can build a better budget

This editorial from today's edition of The State newspaper highlights a reform measure that Senator Sheheen proposed in the legislature. If enacted, the legislation would give committees of the General Assembly responsibility for overseeing particular state agencies. THE WAY THE budget is compiled and the Legislature is organized mitigates against more than a handful of our legislators understanding what the government does well enough even to know what is and isn’t essential - mu… Continue
